TEN YEARS OF POWERING DEVELOPMENT
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Himal Power Limited is carrying out rural development work as part of mitigation obligation as well as a part of social contribution in and around areas where it is operating its hydropower plant. HPL has provided electricity, education, irrigation, and drinking water to the rural population and also carried several other income generation activities for the local population, which the local people had only dreamt for just few years ago. IN doing the development work, HPL has gained acknowledgement from several government and non-government agencies in Nepal and most of all it has received high respect from the local population where the plant is being operated. Today, HPL's development works are taken as an exemplary model for hydropower plant in Nepal. These achievements have to some extent been also able to overshadow the critical remarks some time made in media about the electricity tariff of Khimti plant, although this is not the main objective of HPL.
